Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan

On November 17, 2008, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger signed Executive Order # S-14-08 that sets California’s goal of 33 percent of electricity coming from renewable resources by 2020 and improves processes for licensing renewable projects.

In addition, the Governor ordered the development of the Desert Renewable Energy Conservation Plan (DRECP) for the Mojave and Colorado deserts that would, when complete, provide binding, long-term endangered species permit assurances and facilitate renewable energy project review and approval processes.
